Since liberation a large quantities of reservoirs and hydropower plants have been built in Guangdong. For this regard, emerged were more than 1 million mu of farmland and 11million m2 of dwellings and more than 800,000 people in the dammed areas needed to be resettled. Therefore, the Party and Government have paid special attention to the problems of resettlement. Measures were taken to solve outstanding problems respectively according to different periods. It has been put on a right track to deal with the resettlement affairs according to law since the resolution passed in 1992 by the Provincial People��s Congress to solve the pending problems of resettlement affairs. By implementation of the resolution, the basic facilities have been improved for the resettled residents to raise their living standards and problems have been solved of daily necessities of life.
